John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people by his popular-folk hits and many of them inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state has drawn a lot of people to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver is the Hall of Fame's first inductee, was honored with the award in the year 2011. Denver is today the international face of Colorado. In all my travels I have met many people who are not from Colorado. They will beg, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you're from Colorado. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief time in small folk groups. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music in mind, but Denver knew from the first time he heard earlier versions that it could be a huge hit. Following the performance at Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver made a recording a few days afterward.
